Someone Started A Petition to Change The US National Anthem To War Pigs By Black Sabbath

As U.S. election politics plummet rapidly toward a nadir in vanishing ethics, fear-mongering, and tabloid-esque rhetoric, it shouldn’t escape headlines that no major party candidate harbors intentions to disentangle the country from America’s growing number of military operations worldwide.

Of course, the United States managed to elect Barack Obama, whose expansive bellicose policies — in conjunction with having been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize — embody a quintessential irony seemingly only possible in America.

Obama isn’t the only politician who has managed to tout strict gun control for U.S. citizens while espousing the killing of terror suspects by drone — a program that inevitably causes the murder of anyone who happens to be standing nearby when a bomb is unleashed. Not one of the leading presidential candidates even hinted at a desire to eradicate that contentious practice.

Hillary Clinton, in fact, has thus far received the most funding from weapons manufacturers and the gun lobby while continually barking her tough-on-guns platform — somehow doing so with a (relatively) straight face.

With everything War now thoroughly saturating our cheapened Americana-cultural paradigm, a new petition has emerged that most aptly fits what the U.S. has become.

There is now an effort petitioning House Speaker Paul Ryan to change the U.S. national anthem to “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath. Before you laugh, consider the previous and following points.

Isn’t the U.S. — with its military budget dwarfing at least the next five countries, its multi-fronted ostensible fight against the nebulous ‘terrorism,’ and not-unjustifiable reputation as world police — somewhat uniquely qualified as the premier agent of War?

Perhaps standing to group-sing “War Pigs” before political and sporting events and more might remove the blinders of nationalism and patriotism a smidge. Perhaps a little truth-telling would be good for this country.

Why not tell it — or, in this case, sing it — like it really is. We are the world’s biggest war-mongers, and if we aren’t going to change that, at least we could make America great for once — and be honest about what our government truly is.

Seed Sharing Deemed Illegal In The US: Sign This Petition NOW To Oppose This BS!

Are you paying attention yet?

Whether you love or hate the government and its many laws which are often lobbied for by corporate interests, it’s safe to say that most people are in agreement that saving seeds and sharing them with the community should be a human right. After all this is the way that staple foods are passed down generation to generation, not to mention saving and sharing seeds is a HUGE part of cultural identity and food security.

I like the way Dr. Vandana Shiva puts it: “The desire to save seeds comes from an ethical urge to defend life’s evolution.” Dr. Shiva has always frankly stated, “Seeds are life” and by golly that is as true as it gets! Seeds are the most basic renewable, sustainable, and culturally unique form of life that there is. Throughout history countless cultures would have starved off to near extinction if seed sharing had been forbidden! Why? Many people depend on it, and for good reason!

If you have ever grown a garden and witnessed the ease and magic of creating your own nourishing food you know exactly how important it is to be self-reliant. Even if gardening isn’t something you actively partake in, knowing how to create your own sustenance is a vital part of preparing for the worst (and maintaining the best). Without delving too far into collapse-like scenarios just consider the historically recent United States great depression. The situation was bad enough claiming the lives of over 8 Million Americans. Now imagine if seed sharing had been dubbed illegal prior to this famine. How many more Americans would have starved to death?

You don’t even need to be anti-corporate America or by any means a “conspiracy theorist” to oppose this. Whether an unjust legal system fueled by corporate lobbying and greed is literally behind this silly law or not, you should sign the petition below to lift the illegality of gifting seeds to your community. Hopefully this isn’t anything lobbied for by such corporate seed-patenting interests such as Monsanto, DuPont, Bayer, etc. and is just a symptom of having too many laws that eventually converge onto one another (but I wouldn’t put it past big-biotech!) Either way, most can agree that there is nothing wrong with saving seeds from your garden and passing them on to a fellow (struggling) gardener.

We urge you to share and sign this petition and let your state officials know that this is something you strongly oppose. It will only take you seconds to make it known loud and clear that you believe saving seed is a human right and that dependence on corporations should be a choice, not necessity.

USDA Says: Okay To Ship U.S. Chickens to China for Cheap Processing Then Back Home For You to Eat

Reports say that China's chicken workers earn only $1 to $2 per hour...

Food Safety News recently revealed that the USDA will soon be allowing U.S. chickens to be sent overseas to China for processing, before being shipped back to the U.S. for human consumption.

Naturally, this has resulted in an uproar amongst consumers because China's government does not have a good history in relation to food quality regulations. More than 300,000 Chinese children have suffered illness, and several have died, from melamine-tainted milk powder, high levels of mercury have been found in Chinese baby formula, and more than $1 million worth of rat and other similar meat has been sold to Chinese consumers as lamb!

This is unacceptable and yet another example of government greed, since this executive decision is clearly based on monetary gain rather than the wellbeing of the consumer. It is collusion between both governments that will ultimately leave the people on both sides of the fence the victims.

Please sign and share THIS petition with friends and family members, if enough of us do it, they simply have no choice but to first address it and, with enough protest, end it. Remember this, they need us to buy their products. Without us their business will collapse, it literally is as simple as that.

This Town May Become the Nation’s First to Ban Nestle from Stealing their Water

They hope to become the nation’s first.

In Hood River County Oregon, a first-in-the-nation ballot initiative to stop Nestle from buying public water may soon be up for a vote.

The ballot initiative aims to stop a convoluted water deal giving up water rights of both the state of Oregon and Hood River County to Nestle, resulting in the company selling the county’s water. The ballot initiative could stop the deal and sound a warning to Nestle and other water-bottling companies that local populations are rallying to protect their water rights.

Nestle’s plan has been in the pipeline for over 6 years. The deal has been under siege by local activists, including Native American populations living in the local area. Indigenous activist Anna Mae Leonard went on hunger strike in august this year to try to stop the deal from going through.

“It is intrinsically a desecration to sell that water,” Leonard told KOIN.

This pressure as well as creative work by local environmentalists has led to the ballot initiative. For this petition to get issued before the electorate the organizers must get at least 664 signatures.

The battle for potable water is going to be a major issue in the coming decades. Nestle has already been criticized for bottling water in the drought-stricken Colorado River basin, including parts of Southern California, where there have been water rationing measures enforced on the local populations. And just last year, the Maine Public Utilities Commission allowed the sale of Fryeburg, Maine’s water rights to Nestle ignoring public outcry. That decision was especially monumental, as two of the regulators who ruled in Nestle’s favor had previously recused themselves from the decision, citing previous deals with Nestle.

As scarcity of water spreads, local populations are becoming more resourceful in their efforts to preserve local water supplies. Committed activists like those in Hood River County are taking after the example of prior organizing efforts, like those in Cochabamba, Bolivia, to keep their water publicly-owned.

UK Petition Demanding the Arrest of Netanyahu Goes Viral

In just a few days, a petition to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has gone viral.

The petition is entitled “Benjamin Netanyahu to be arrested for war crimes when he arrives in London” is available HERE

The petition has been inspired because of the incessant murder of Palestinian civilians who, despite being branded as being the aggressors, have no navy, no army and remain under constant blockade. The argument that they are using human shields has also been debunked and Amnesty International published a report last year that revealed "strong evidence" of Israeli war crimes.

The petition reads as follows;

“Benjamin Netanyahu is to hold talks in London this September. Under international law, he should be arrested for war crimes upon arrival in the UK for the massacre of over 2,000 civilians in 2014,” the petition reads.

As of now (08/13/2015) the petition has just under 49,000 signatures. According to the website, which is owned by the British government, at 10,000 signatures, which has already been met, they will respond to the petition and at 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament. So be sure to add your vote against this war criminal.
