USDA Whistleblower Reveals Shocking Truth Behind Massive Bee Die-Off

These are very serious allegations that the USDA censored the research showing what’s really killing America’s pollinators.

What’s really killing the bees? That’s the question millions of people across the United States have been racking their brains over for years, as government agencies continue to assure the public that they’re working to find the true causes.

lundBut distrust for these government bodies and officials is at an all-time high, and the latest news on a possible government cover-up is likely to add even more fuel to the fire.

According to reports from the Washington Post, Minneapolis Star-Tribune and several other major outlets, a suspended scientist from South Dakota is blowing the whistle on the USDA, levying serious allegations that the government body censored what could be vital research into what’s really killing America’s pollinators.

Scientist Alleges Censorship, Retaliation

In a complaint filed on Wednesday, Jonathan Lundgren, a highly regarded senior research scientist and 11-year employee of the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service, alleges that officials began to “impede or deter his research and resultant publications” over a year ago, according to this report from the Post

Lundgren, who hails from Brookings, South Dakota, said that supervisors harassed him, tried to stop him from speaking out, and interfered with his new projects at the agency. The report was filed with support from the Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER), a non-profit that defends and supports persecuted government scientists on environmental issues.

“We think the USDA is reflecting complaints from corporate stakeholders,” said Jeff Ruch, PEER’s executive director, to the Star-Tribune. “This research is drawing consternation, which flows down the USDA chain of command to the researchers doing the work.”

The USDA declined to discuss any specifics relating to the case.

According to Ruch, Lundgren’s complaints are not new. Several other USDA employees have been coming to his group with complaints about being harassed by the governmental organization over their work on bees and pesticides.

Lundgren also had his name forcibly removed from a key research paper that he contributed to, which strongly questioned the federal mandate for growing GMO corn to use as ethanol. Lundgren argued that ethanol and specifically the rise of GMOs has “produced a host of unintended adverse consequences, including rising environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, stronger pest resistance and inflated corn prices…” according to this article from the Post.

In addition, he published a research paper showing that neonicotinoids, a type of insecticide coating used on seeds from Monsanto and other companies that has been banned in Europe, were harmful to monarch butterflies. He also was widely quoted in the media about the decline of insects due to the controversial aforementioned seeds.

Following this series of events Lundgren alleges that  “improper reprisal, interference and hindrance of his research and career began in earnest,” he said according to the complaint. He was suspended for 30 days, which was then reduced to 14 days, which he says was in retaliation for his work.

For more on what Lundgren is alleging and why this potential cover-up is so important, check out this report from the Star-Tribune or this one from the Post

German Government Wants Facebook to Censor Controversial Speech

New York, NY — Last weekend, world leaders met at the U.N. 70th General Assembly, arguably “the greatest political show on Earth.” Among these world leaders was Mark Zuckerberg. That’s right, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was present at the event and was reportedly overheard talking about censorship with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

In this new era when Facebook sponsors presidential debates with Fox News, Mark Zuckerberg is an influential figure who should not be underestimated. According to a report from Bloomberg, German Chancellor Angela Merkel was overheard pressing Zuckerberg about “how his company is progressing in efforts to curtail racist posts.”

She spoke to Zuckerberg about the issue during a live transmission broadcast as people took their seats at the U.N. assembly, and he responded by saying, “We need to do some work.”

Zuckerberg’s statement to Merkel is in line with Facebook’s pledge to more closely monitor racist posts on German Facebook earlier this month. Facebook announced plans to join forces with “a non-profit group called Voluntary Self-Monitoring of Multimedia Service Providers.”

“We are committed to working closely with the German government on this important issue,” Debbie Frost, a spokeswoman Facebook said in an e-mail to Bloomberg News. “We think the best solutions to dealing with people who make racist and xenophobic comments can be found when service providers, government and civil society all work together to address this common challenge,” she added.

While racist posts are nothing to defend or excuse, it is relevant to ask why the German Chancellor has interest in using censorship to combat the problem.

It does not need to be said that censorship is like a floodgate; once you open it, the boundaries of what is ‘appropriate’ and what should be banned become blurred.  If a society allows the censorship of one form of speech, a variety of interests seeking to censor social media may also pursue similar attempts to suppress free expression.

Video Shows IDF Snipers Shooting Palestinian Children For Fun, But Facebook Won’t Let You Share It

By Addicting Info

Footage released on YouTube clearly shows Israeli soldiers firing live rounds at Palestinian children playing on a roof in Al Khalil, an area of Hebron in Occupied Palestine.  An important piece of evidence attesting to the brutality of Israeli occupation. Yet, Facebook users have reported  that the social media platform is preventing them from sharing the video.

Four soldiers lay on their chests on a rooftop.  In the same shot, we see what appear to be two Palestinian children playing on a rooftop.  One of the soldiers takes aim and shoots one of the Palestinians on the roof, clearly hitting him in the thigh.

The soldiers then celebrate.  One imitates the flailing actions of the wounded Palestinian, while others shake the hand of the ‘successful’ sniper.

Facebook users attempting to share the video from the Scriptonite Daily Facebook page, reported being unable to share the video.

It would appear that some users were indeed being prevented from sharing the footage.  Receiving the following message when they made attempts.

The video in question is distressing – but no more gratuitous or obscene than much of the viral videos that cross our desks here at Addicting Info.  more than that, it serves to inform people across the world of the risk of injury and death Palestinians face every day, under Israeli occupation.

So, for sake of transparency and in the (fragile) hope that the incident is properly investigated and these soldiers face the appropriate consequences for their action – here is the video. Please share widely.
