The FBI, US Department of Justice and anti-corruption police in Britain and Australia have launched a joint investigation into revelations of a massive global bribery racket in the oil industry.

The Huffington Post was the recipient of the biggest leak of classified files in the history of the oil industry which implicate some big time players, which include US giant Halliburton, and its former subsidiary KBR (Kellogg, Brown & Root), Italian oil giant Eni, Spanish Firm Tecnicas Reunidas, French firm Technip, drilling giant MI-SWACO, Rolls-Royce, Texas firm National Oilwell Varco, Singapore conglomerate Keppel, Norway’s Aker Kvaerner, Turkish joint venture GATE, US defense giant Honeywell and Australian firm Leighton Offshore are all involved, and the organization that connects them all; Unaoil.
The first report will expose this corrupt organized conspiracy of bribery and corruption in the Middle East and North Africa. The second on former Soviet states, and the last will focus on Asia and Africa.
The report exposes the reality that government contracts worth billions and billions of dollars were awarded solely on the basis of bribes; almost all of which were organized by a middle man organization known as Unaoil.
THE CASPIAN REGION
In an effort to win contracts for its clients in Kazakhstan, and the Caspian region, Unaoil paid multiple bribes to Eni and Kazakh officials in charge of regulating the massive Kashagan oilfield and elsewhere.
The leaked files show that senior officials within KBR were very persistent at convincing Unaoil to find a way to award them the tenders they so desperately coveted. Emails between the shadowy group, demonstrate they would communicate through a sort of code. For example, an email from a KBR manager to a Unaoil official, encourage them to concentrate their efforts on “a good spaghetti house” and “a little shashlick”. This was actually a code to bribe Italian company Eni and the Kazakh government who were in charge of regulating the contracts KBR was after.
The files show Unaoil consciously pursued a policy to corrupt a number of key influential figures, including senior Eni manager Diego Braghi and Kazakh senior official Serik Burkitbayev.
This same methodology was replicated in oil rich country Azerbaijan, where KBR also paid Unaoil millions and millions of dollars to help it "win" contracts through bribery. Likewise, they also embarked on this policy of corruption in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
As mentioned earlier though, this corruption is global, and not merely regional.
The US Department of Justice, the FBI, UK National Crime Agency and Australian Federal Police are now all jointly investigating Unaoil and its partners. The probe is likely to be one of the world’s biggest, and probably corrupt as well, since those in the highest positions of power seem to always find a way to avoid prosecution.
Questions are already emerging about how this company could operate for so many years with impunity, using bank accounts in New York and London to launder dirty money and pay bribes as far back as 2000 up until recently. The answer though, is fairly obvious; this bribery racket is just the tip of the iceberg and merely a branch of a much deeper more sinister rooted system that is inherently corrupt by nature.
Unaoil's headquarters were raided in Monaco, which is controlled by the wealthy Ahsani family. Many of Unaoil’s crooked deals, however, were organized in London and New York; Two governments who possess unprecedented forms of spying and tracking.
In other words, it is humorous to think that either government didn't know what was going on. But, thhen again, it is time for us as a civilian population to grow up and evolve. There is no major difference between major corporations and governments, they are both different sides to the same corrupt coin.
The Ahsani family are very well connected, as are the ruling elite throughout the world so it is highly unlikely that any real justice will be administered but what this does demonstrate unequivocally, is that the gigs almost up and their house of cards is crumbling, because the common people of the world can no longer be kept in the dark. More of us are waking up every day. It's not a matter of if, but when. And when that glorious day does finally come, there's gonna be hell to pay by these exploiters of humanity.
