Typically we break down smart people as those who have intelligence and those who, well, don’t. But that’s not how intelligence works according to the theory of multiple intelligences, laid out by by Dr. Howard Gardner.
In his 1983 book, Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences, it’s more likely that there are about 9 different types of intelligence and that in each of us, one is dominant. So you might be musically intelligent, linguistically intelligent, mathematically intelligent, and so on.
Dr. Gardner thinks that there exists a wide range of cognitive abilities and that each person has some kind of high intelligence about them. Which type of intelligence are you?
