A recent story has just developed from Harare, Zimbabwe. A lion has killed a safari guide named Quinn Swales while he was leading a group of tourists in the same national park in Zimbabwe that was home Cecil the lion who was just recently killed by an international hunter back in July, 2015.
According to sources Quinn Swales was in Hwange National Park when a male lion attacked him.
Reports indicate none of the tourists that were with the guide were harmed during the event. Witnesses say Mr. Swales spent his last moments showing tourists how to track a pride of lions. The lion, in question is reported to be named Nxaha and he is being tracked by colar since Cecil's killing in July by the American dentist, James Walter Palmer. The park's lions are being monitored for a study at Oxford University, but unfortunately can't prevent events like this.
The safari company that employed Swales, Camp Hwange, said the guide died from the injuries acquired on the same day he was attacked. He was tracking lions when a male lion unexpectedly charged," said Camp Hwange in the statement issued Monday. The Camp Hwange's authority also said a man was killed by an elephant in Victoria Falls, about 100 kilometers from Hwange, also on Monday.
