Kalel Santiago at the age of only 10 months, was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer called neuroblastoma, and spent more than two years
undergoing heavy surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments.

If this wasn't bad enough this baby was then diagnosed with severe, non-verbal autism. It's pretty hard to imagine having to experience this even as an adult, and this young child's life has hardly even begun.
Kalel managed to triumph over his cancer, but still was plagued by his autism. As a result, Kalel's father Abiel Gomez Santiago and his wife Gladys decided to take a course on autism to better understand their son's condition. They tried many possible solutions with no success until they came across a "surf-therapy school". Not long after this, they discovered the power of hemp oil, which is prominent in the
compound cannabidiol (CBD), which has been proven
to dramatically ease symptoms of epilepsy and autism.
Once they began treatment, the results were shocking, in JUST 2 days Kalel began to talk! They couldn't believe it.
“You can’t imagine the emotion we had,
hearing Kalel’s voice for the first time. It was amazing. The teacher
recorded him and sent it to my wife and me and we said well, the only
different thing we have been doing is using the CBD.”
The product the family used is called Hemp Health,
from California, which sells for just $40 per ounce which is about a two to three month
supply. But the FDA, not surprisingly, is opposed to this treatment. In
February, the FDA sent warning letters
to many of these oil manufacturers, telling them to stop making medical
claims as they consider it to be illegal.
This is very disheartening for people such as Santiagos, who literally depend on this treatment for the wellbeing of their child and have stated that “If we had to go somewhere else to get it, we would. I’d go anywhere.” Such a response is to be expected when it is someone's child. Legality, sadly, is not an indication of justice in this world.
So what do you guys think? More and more stories are coming out daily about alternative cures that the FDA is trying to suppress but unlike the past when they had a monopoly on the media, they cannot contain the internet — at least not for now.
