This Giant Windwheel Has 72 Apartments, Powers 1,000 Homes, Collects & Recycles Water. Mind Blown.

The Dutch Windwheel company and Deft University have come up with a brilliant idea to generate electricity by designing a giant version of the windwheel.

About 2 years ago Deft University of Technology in the Netherlands came up with the concept and decided to put it into action. This incredible design is capable of generating enough electricity to power around 1,000 homes and can absorb solar energy, collect and even recycle water, and is home to 72 apartments!

In an interview with Popular Mechanics The Dutch Windwheel company had this to say about their inspiration behind the new invention;

“We wanted a 100-percent-sustainable building that serves as a platform for all kinds of innovations,”

 Currently this has not been implemented on the grand scale envisioned but based on the prototype, the architects believe it can absolutely be done and plan on having this up and running in just ten years from now. Welcome to the future. We can have a better tomorrow if we support projects like this.
