Driving home in the state of Arkansas one day, a woman named Alicia went by a homeless man on his bike. As she got closer, she noticed that he was towing a bunch of dogs in the trailer behind him and was struggling to peddle. While trying to understand what she had just seen, Alicia debated within her mind kept while driving by and told herself that if she ever saw that man again, she would stop and help.
Alicia would, be it by chance or fate, cross paths with the man again. His name was Steve and he had been homeless since 2001. He decided to dedicate his life to taking in any animal who had been neglected in any way that he could.
Steve has so far helped more than 50 dogs in the last 14 years. When Alicia stopped and spoke to Steve, he was actually en route of a 2000-mile journey — with his 10 dogs in tow — to see his girlfriend in Indiana, who also helps him with his amazing work!
Alicia was so moved and touched by his story that she bought food for the dogs and, after speaking with her mother, the two took to Facebook in search of help and assistance and set up an online fundraiser.
This has led to an incredible welcoming and support from countless individuals. Donations have helped pay for more food, supplies, treats, a new reliable trailer and shelter for Steve and his dog family.
Through this solidarity and connectivity, Steve has now met with animal advocate Angela, who runs an organization that works with homeless people and their pets and they have been working with Steve and his girlfriend ever since.
This is such a beautiful and powerful story that demonstrates the power of the people and how we can come together, through the strategic use of social media, to make a positive difference!
Please SHARE Steve’s story with your friends on Facebook and other social media outlets. This really is such a beautiful and powerful story!

Alicia powerfully stated that, "if it wasn't for every single one of you, this man might still be pedaling down the road not knowing what hardship he might hit next".
